Gary Hogan tek over som A lagstrenar for Øystese i 2018.
So kanskje får me sjå ein engelskmann på utlån i Øystese eller me får sendt ein lokal helt over til West Ham
Webredaksjonen har fått eit par ord med den påtroppande A lagstrenaren og sportssjefen i Øystese:

1 – Korfor tek du over Øystese ?

It just seems like the perfect challenge i’ve been looking for. I have waited for the right opportunity to come along in senior football over the past year and was very clear that I would only take one that feels right. And after first contact from the club, I spoke to my good friend Marcelo Ribeiro (tidlegare Øystesespelar og trenar) about the club, the people and the town and after a short visit to meet some of the players, it felt like the perfect fit.

2 – Du vil også bli sportssjef i Øystese. Korleis vil du håndtere det ?

It’s something i’m really looking forward to. Being in a position to run the A-lag whilst also helping to develop a thread all the way through the club is something i’m excited about. Obviously I have alot of experience from many clubs both as a player and a coach and have seen first hand how important the sportslig leder role is for other people to do their jobs properly. I’m very passionate about the development of young players so combining the A-lag job with being able to directly affect the younger teams is the perfect job for me.

3 – Korleis vil du beskrive Gary Hogan ?

I’m very hard working, honest and direct. I think about the game all the time and try to constantly learn and develop, as result I have high expectations of both myself and those around me. Away from football I think boring would be the word to describe me best!

4 – Kva er dine ambisjoner innan fotball ?

For now my main ambition I have is to do the best job I possibly can for Øystese. I’ve been in the game a long time and learned that you never know whats around the corner. All you can do is work hard, and do the best you can and see where that takes you.

5 – Vil da bli vanskleg å bu ein liten plass som Øystese ?

No not at all. I was worried about that when I first moved to Norway and went directly from Dublin to Steinkjer! But I loved it, and it remains my favourite place to live. I’m aware Øystese is much, much smaller but as I mentioned earlier, i’m a pretty boring guy so away from work I don’t need alot. Marcelo also spoke very highly of the people in the town and the people in the club and the environment so I have no worries about that.

6 – Vil du spela sjølv ?

If i’m needed, who knows. Its not the plan, and I will hope to have a good keeper team that I can work with and help improve. But I will register as a player, and join sessions to be fit and if the situation arises that I need to play i’ll be available.

7 – Noko du vil sei til fansen ?

Just that i’m really looking forward to getting started and helping the boys build on such a great achievement last season. It’s going to be a much tougher year and the boys will need all the help they can get and I hope everybody gets behind them. One thing i can promise is that no matter what, this year the fans will see a team that works hard for each other, the club and the fans and that they will never be a team short of work rate or effort. I hope everybody has had a great Christmas and New year and I look forward to meeting everybody soon!

Øystese Fotball ynskjer Gary velkommen til Øystese! Og ynskjer lykke til i jobben som A lagstrenar og sportssjef
